Projects

The Supreme Group has the expertise and capability to participate in Design-Assist or Design-Build projects.

Recent Design-Assist projects include:

Nexen: The client asked that we avail ourselves as a member of the project team, offering advice and input into the design. Supreme Group worked with designers from Colt/Nexen to achieve the most effective cost and schedule driven design.

Artists impression of The Bow, Calgary, Alberta. which at 58 stories will be the tallest office tower in Canada outside of Toronto.EnCana "The Bow" project: The design was not advanced enough at the tender stage to allow the client to move to a traditional fixed price. Among other criteria, the client chose the contractor whom they believed could offer the best input to achieve project success. Supreme Group and Walters Group (SWJV) were engaged early with the Owner, Contractor, Design Engineer and Architect to jointly tackle the design challenges. This input addresses efficiencies in engineering, fabrication, logistics and installation of steel in conjunction with other trades (i.e. curtain wall, fireproofing, etc.)

Recent Design-Build Projects include:

BHP Ekati Mine, Diavik, Victor Mine. Not many other structural fabricators tackle this market. We are able to offer a more broad scope of services than our competitors, in that we:

  • Design, Fabricate and Install (Structural Steel for Building Shells);
  • Supply and Install (Interior Steel); and
  • Supply and Install (Cladding, Bins and Conveyors).

Our main competitors for these projects are Pre-Engineered Building Suppliers, but they often do not have the capacity to manage interior steel, conveyors or bins, resulting in the client having to manage various suppliers.

The Supreme Group can provide a turn-key solution for such clients.
