Safety Coordinator
Our Edmonton Division has an opportunity for a full-time Health and Safety Coordinator. Reporting to the General Manager, the Safety Coordinator will be responsible for the following:
• Responsible for the day-to-day coordination and administration of the Health, Safety and Environmental Management Program
• Assist in implementation of Company policies, procedures and rules
• Conduct inspections, incident investigations, new hire safety orientations, chair joint health and safety committee meetings and create and conduct internal training programs
• Serve as a liaison with MHSA, WCB and OH&S.
• Perform annual audits utilizing the MHSA audit protocol
• Coordinate WCB claims management
Preferred candidates will possess a combination of the following:
• 3 – 5 years Safety experience preferably in the steel fabrication sector
• Extensive knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulation and Code
• Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
• Computer knowledge – Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point required
• Completion of OH&S courses or equivalent experience and education a must (i.e. MSO or NCSO designation)
• A CRSP designation or in the process of obtaining a CRSP designation would be considered an asset.
Estimator
We are currently seeking to fill the position of Estimator. Duties of this position include
reviewing requests for quotations; establishing pricing for structural and/or miscellaneous scopes of work; and preparing and submitting tender documentation.
The successful candidate is required to have
at least two years experience; have strong interpersonal and computer skills; display a proficient command of verbal and written communication; demonstrate effective time-management; and work well in a
fast-paced, dynamic team environment.
Project Manager
We are currently seeking to fill the position of Project Manager. Duties of this position include
ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget; effective dealings with clients throughout the duration of projects; coordinating between internal departments; and preparing and submitting reports and
invoices.
The successful candidate is required to have at least two years experience; have strong interpersonal skills; display a proficient command of verbal and written communication; demonstrate
effective time-management; and work well in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.
Checker
We are looking for senior detailers with a minimum of 10 years experience including 3 years checking experience. Candidates must be familiar with CISC code of standard practice. Knowledge of X-steel preferred.
Detailing Coordinator
We are looking for an experienced Detailing Coordinator to oversee Detailing Projects. As the Detailing Coordinator, you will oversee both our in-house staff and sub-contractor resources working on assigned projects.
Duties include interaction with our customers to facilitate RFI's, scheduling requirements, ensuring the project is on time, etc.
The preferred candidate will have several years detailing/checking experience as well as experience in the steel industry. Excellent communication skills are required.
Senior Structural Engineer
As the Senior Structural Engineer you will be responsible for connection design. Experience with design of steel structures would be a definite asset.
Duties include:
• Connection design layouts, calculations and details.
• Create installation procedures for field crews.
• Improve and enhance product design/methodology.
• Meeting with customers & vendors to discuss project requirements.
• Ensure materials are specified and ordered to meet production requirements.
• Assist production personnel to interpret drawings and solve manufacturing problems.
• Mentoring co-workers.
Skills and Knowledge requirements:
• 5-10 years experience in an engineering and manufacturing environment.
• Post-secondary Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• Registered as a Professional Engineer with APEGGA or eligible for registration.
• Knowledge of industry standards such as CAN/CSA S16-01, CWB W59, OH&S, etc.
• Working knowledge of weld procedures.
• Knowledge of contract documents and specifications.
• Excellent computer skills, inncluding AutoCAD 2006, MS Office
• Good organizational skills.
• Working knowledge and understanding of fabrication and assembly processes.
• Ability to work with several projects at the same time.
• Must possess a proficient command of verbal and written communication.
• Demonstrate effective time-management and work well in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.
Accounts Payable Clerk
Supreme Steel Ltd. is currently seeking a full time Accounts Payable Clerk to work in our West End office. In this role you will be responsible for accounts payable,
including matching, coding and entering invoices, printing cheques, producing reports, and other related duties. We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic team player for this position. The successful
candidate will have accounting knowledge and be proficient in Microsoft Excel. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are required.
