Supreme Steel is currently looking for a professional, detail-orientated and highly efficient individual to join our Accounting team in the position of Corporate Accountant at our office in Acheson, AB. Reporting to the Manager of Corporate Compliance, this intermediate accounting position will be responsible for accurate and timely financial reporting, and analysis while ensuring accounting practices are in compliance with regulations.
This individual will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Gather and analyze financial data for reporting and audits
- Monthly Project Reporting
- Assist with treasury management
- Work with management and auditors on the annual audit
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting including consolidation
- Weekly receivables reporting
- Managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Maintenance of vendor databases
Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications
- BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance or related field
- CPA designation is preferred, but not required
- Experience in a construction and/or production environment considered an asset
- Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting standards and tax
- Exposure to sales tax reporting
- A high level of priority-management, analytics, and strategic thinking
- Above average organizational skills with the ability to work independently
- Exceptional computer skills: advanced skills using Excel, ability to master ERP (Sage 300) and inhouse reporting (Power BI) software.
- Excellent stakeholder relations and communication skills
