Welders

Supreme Steel currently seeking experienced Welders to join our production team at our Acheson facility. These are full time unionized positions for all shifts (Monday to Thursday with potential for overtime). This role is vital for ensuring the quality and integrity of our steel products.

As a Welder, you will contribute to our mission of delivering exceptional steel solutions while working with advanced technology and techniques. Ideal candidates are quality-driven, safety-conscious, and capable of interpreting blueprints to fabricate structural steel components with precision.

Journeyperson Welder – Key Qualifications and Responsibilities

Requirements:

  • Journeyperson / Red Seal Certification
  • CWB (Canadian Welding Bureau) Certification
  • CWB Level 1 Welding Inspector certification an asset
  • Experience with Submerged Arc Welding (Sub Arc) an asset
  • Proficiency in all-position structural steel welding
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding schematics
  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards

Key Responsibilities:

  • Weld a variety of structural steel components in accordance with project specifications
  • Perform visual inspections and quality checks on welds; adjust as necessary
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to meet production timelines
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
  • Ensure proper care and maintenance of tools and equipment

Apprentice Welder – Key Qualifications and Responsibilities

Requirements:

  • Enrolled in or graduated from an AIT-recognized welding apprenticeship program
  • CWB (Canadian Welding Bureau) Certification
  • Ability to interpret basic blueprints and welding schematics
  • Ability to safely operate shop tools (grinders, drills, etc.)CWB Level 1 Welding Inspector certification an asset
  • Strong safety awareness and adherence to procedures

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform welding tasks in accordance with skill level and under supervision
  • Assist in fabricating structural components as directed
  • Keep work area clean and tools in proper working order
  • Support team objectives while learning and applying technical skills

Successful candidates will be required to pass pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Testing, as well as Physical Fitness to Work Mobility Testing as a condition of their employment.  Reliable transportation to the facility is Acheson is also required, as there is limited public transit.
