Supreme Steel is currently looking for safety conscious, team oriented individuals to join our fabrication team as a Yard Crew – Overhead Crane Operator at our facility in Acheson, AB. These are full time, unionized positions, working the day and/or afternoon shift (4-10’s, Monday to Thursday). The Overhead Crane Operator position is responsible for the moving of steel materials for processing, stocking and organizing inventory. The successful candidate must have proficient overhead crane operating skills, strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast paced work environment.
The successful individual will possess the ability to gain knowledge quickly, and follow safety policies and procedures while promoting a safe work environment, as well as the following attributes:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience operating an overhead crane
- Must have overhead crane operating certification
- Extensive knowledge of safe handling techniques, in particular selection and use of proper material handling equipment
- Demonstrated knowledge and adherence to safety procedures
- Familiarity of all steel grades and shapes
- Overhead crane operating experience in the structural steel industry is considered an asset
Successful candidates will have a valid driver’s license and will be required to pass pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Testing, as well as Physical Fitness to Work Mobility Testing as a condition of their employment.
