Capitol Theatre

Capitol Theatre marked Supreme Steel’s first venture into a “true BIM” environment.  The Fort Edmonton Park project was based in Revit and all design information was presented in model form. Models were shared through file transfers between designers and producers which minimized much of the work duplication that has long existed in the traditional approach of steel design and construction.  The integrated project delivery arrangement provided an opportunity for Supreme Steel to work directly with the entire consultant team, Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, etc.  Supreme Steel was able to propose cost saving ideas from the perspective of a steel fabricator and steel erector which led to structural design changes and work sequence planning changes; that reduced both shop and field labor requirements and therefore cost.
