The joint venture of Drake Turner awarded Canron Portland the fabrication and erection of the Rose Garden Arena in 1993. Supreme (formerly known Canron) was a member of the design-build team for the project.
The Rose Garden Arena is home to the NBA’s Portland Trailblazers basketball team with a seating capacity of 19,980 spectators, including 70 luxury suites. The other tenant for the Arena is the Portland Winterhawks of the Western Hockey League. Concerts, Cirque du Soleil shows, and other live performances are also held at the Arena.
The project consisted of a complex roof truss system with varying hyperbolic curves at the roof edges that made the detailing and fabrication of this project a major challenge. Main roof trusses were 34 ft. deep x 343 ft. long.
